This is a blog about writing software...

Welcome to Software Sifu. Here, I intend to write about writing software. In a recent related blog, I share a bit of history around how I came to love software. Check it out.

I've been writing software for over 25 years and have developed a few opinions along the way. I will likely share many of them with you, intentionally or unintentionally. Hang in there with me. Challenge me if you differ. Support me if you agree. I welcome discussion and feedback.

I've not been around software since its inception, but I've seen quite a lot. I started programming on a Commodore 64 I got for Christmas as a freshman in high school. Nothing significant, but enough to understand basic principles. I worked around "mainframes", but never programmed them (though I did read some of an IBM mainframe manual once... yuk!).

The majority of my experience is firmly rooted in "personal computers" (aka PCs). And most of the work I've done, though not all of it, has been custom software solutions targeted at specific business problems.

As this blog matures, I hope to pull in references to some of the work I've done over the years to give flavor and background to my perspectives.

I hope you'll join me. I look forward to sharing with you and getting your feedback/input.

Until next time...
